A Place to Belong is a network of committed people. Many people volunteer their time and energy to make things happen. Seven people make up the Operating Committee which oversees and advises the manager and workers. Open participation is also invited for anyone who wants to attend quarterly Guiding Group meetings to have their say.
As well, people have made commitments to include or befriend others who are isolated and asking for connection.
Volunteers also assist in coordinating activities and projects.
This network also benefits enormously from stakeholders and committed skilled people from around the mental health and disability sectors.
“You have managed to establish a coherent service where your actions and processes reflect your values.”
“Thank-you for all the opportunities you have given me. I appreciate all these things and will never forget the second chance at life you gave me.”
